Denison Ranges Solo

Some photos from a recent 3-day solo adventure into Lake Rhona in the Denison Range (South West National Park, Tasmania)

River crossing on the Gordon River

Gordonvale is about 1.5 hours into the hike, a little farm first established by Ernie Bond who went on to become a bit of a legend in the early days of Tasmanian tramping.

Pity I was by myself...

Lake Rhona has a very particular sand colour, a pink hue in certain lights, and is due to the stone on the peaks that surround it.

Far too excited for 06:30 in the morning, perhaps.

A stone menhir. I said my prayers.

Scrambling down a rocky escarpment lead to some tasty wounds down my legs :)

Early, early morning on the lake.
